Growing up in a diverse community, I saw firsthand how education shapes lives. With a mother who was a public school teacher, I learned early on the power of learning—and the importance of making sure every child has access to it. That passion led me to law school at Washington University in St. Louis, where I developed the skills to fight for families facing school-related legal challenges.
After years of practicing in school law and litigation, I founded The Rhoads Firm, LLC to focus on education law, student advocacy, and civil rights. Today, I serve families across Missouri and Illinois, holding schools accountable when they fail to protect students.
Education law is about more than legal cases—it’s about the futures of children. Whether a student is denied special education services, disciplined unfairly, or facing a civil rights violation, we are here to fight back. Our goal is simple: to give parents the legal support they need to ensure their children get the education they deserve.
When schools fail to do what’s right, families need more than just legal advice—they need a dedicated advocate who understands education law and isn’t afraid to fight. Here’s why parents and families trust us to stand up for their children.
Unlike general practice firms, we focus exclusively on education law, student rights, and school-related legal issues. We know the system inside and out and use that knowledge to fight for families.
With years of litigation experience, we understand how schools operate and how they defend their actions. This allows us to anticipate their arguments and build stronger cases for our clients.
From securing special education services to reversing unfair disciplinary actions, we’ve helped countless families protect their children’s rights. We fight for real results that make a difference.
